  • Norbert Blei (1935 - 2013) is one of Door County's best-known authors of of fiction, non-fiction, poetry and journalism. Blei was born in Chicago and moved to Door County in 1969; he is the winner of a Pushcart Prize for fiction. (His writing retreat, The Coop, now sits on the Write On, Door County campus.) Blei's work gives readers insight into a different era of life on the peninsula and space to reflect on what has changed and what remains the same.
